1. Download the official release
Use the LinScreen 14.0.1 GitHub release. Avoid third-party mirrors because their contents and freshness cannot be verified by the project.
2. Make the file executable
chmod +x LinScreen-14.0.1-x86_64.AppImage
3. Check and start LinScreen
./LinScreen-14.0.1-x86_64.AppImage --version
./LinScreen-14.0.1-x86_64.AppImageThe version check should identify LinScreen 14.0.1.
Wayland requirements
The AppImage includes Qt Wayland and English/French Qt translation catalogs. It does not install xdg-desktop-portal or a GNOME, KDE, GTK or wlroots backend.
Limitations
- The build targets x86_64 Linux.
- It does not install a desktop entry globally.
- Permission dialogs remain controlled by the desktop.
- The current build is beta software.
